Parting is Such Sweet Sorrow...

Goodnight sweet princes and princesses!  (How many Shakespeare references can I fit in one post?)

Have fun with Mrs. Abreu, and stop by my office to say, "Hi."

Here is a link to Mrs. Abreu's blog, which will work in a similar manner to how this one has:  http://mrsabreusclass.edublogs.org

Be good to her and to each other!

Honors Seniors: Second Summer Reading Assignment

Please Note: The following assignment is for my honors level seniors in the LITERATURE AND WAR class.

For your second summer reading assignment you will create a synthesis (multiple source) position paper.
Your job will be to compare how the author of your summer reading book and the creator of a visual piece of art craft similar themes in different manners.

You may choose from one of the following pieces of art, or you may pick your own. (Click on the images to see larger versions of them.)

Use this activity as a brainstorming guide to help you understand your image: Analyzing a Visual Text

This will be graded using our position paper rubric.
